My new book will look at autism from the point of view
of autistic people themselves, including my own
autism. I will explore how we experience our autism,
from the inside out, and how we deal with the issues it
can cause. I will also include the experiences from the
parents and siblings of autistic people. I hope it will be
useful for anyone who might be interested in learning
more about autism, for those who are autistic, reading
about how other autistic people deal with theirs. Most
autistic people and some people who are not autistic
have a visual way of thinking. I do, and it can provide a
colourful world of thought which can help in so many
ways, although there are a few challenges to this too. I
call it Thinking in Colour. It is why autistic people are
often very creative. Here is a potential cover design! As
the work progresses I shall include updates here and
  on social media.

The book will not just be about my autism, but I am very keen to include the
lived experiences of many people who are autistic; male, female, gay,
straight, young and old - essentially a cross section of autistic people in
society. I also want to speak to the parents, siblings and friends of autistic
people to provide an insight into how they support the autistic friends and
family members and how it impacts on their lives.
Therefore, I need volunteers who are willing to talk about their experience
of autism. It can be added to the narrative anonymously if needed.
Very often Autism co-occurs with other neurodiverse conditions such as
ADHD and Dyslexia and I will include these too.
If anyone can help, please contact me using the button on the right.
